Here is my brainstorm for today.

Ugly food, bad for you.

Food that's slack, makes you fat.

Before you drink, stop and think.

Hi
hey you mob, what is a banana?
A vegetable, a fruit, a palm or a tree?
No, it's a herb that just happens to fruit.

I’ve learnt that food like spaghetti bolognaise has something from every food group. The spaghetti is from the grain and bread one; and meatballs are from the meat group; and the cheese is from the dairy group; tomato sauce is fruit and vegetable if you use onion. So spaghetti bolognaise is a combination food.

Hi
I read that recent research shows that most people would benefit from increasing their fruit and vegetable intake. A lifetime habit of eating adequate amounts amounts fruit and vegetables every day can help prevent:
heart disease
some forms of cancer
Overweight, stoke and kidney disease.
A child aged 8-11 years should have about 1-2 fruit a day and 3-5 vegetables a day.

Hi Everyone,

Certain groups of food are grouped together on what energy they give you, what they are made of and how much of it you should eat.

Today I learned how much food you should eat every day from each food group. it is different per age.

cameron's post 2

Hi
Certain groups of food are together because milk, cheese, and yogurt are made from milk.
bread, cereals, rice, pasta and noodles are made from cereal crops.
foods are placed in food groups because the food is ranked to least healthy to most healthy.

Certain foods are grouped together because the foods in each group are the same kinds of foods and each group gives us something to keep our body strong and healthy.

Bread, cereals, rice, pasta and noodles provide us with carbohydrates which give us energy.

The fruit and vegetable groups give us fibre and important vitamins and minerals.

The best source of calcium, which we need to make our bones strong, comes from the dairy group.

The foods from the meat, nuts and legumes group give us protein, iron and zinc.
